Some questions i'm often asked...
Because everyone is different, I would say that that every session is going to be a little different. I like to approach a session with a pretty loose plan of what to do. My sessions tend to move in their own direction based on the subject. I would rather keep you at ease and not put very much pressure to “perform” in front of the camera, because it doesn’t come across as natural. We can choose to shoot at a local park close to sunset or a field at mid day. We could shoot downtown on a quiet evening (usually Sunday). We can even make your living room into a location! The possibilities are endless!
SO WHAT CAN I EXPECT FROM A SESSION?
All sessions are on-location and focus on interactions and expressions. My goal is to capture the unique and meaningful moments. Sessions are casual and I encourage you to be yourself, there is no pressure! I want you feel like you were not stressed out trying to smile. From serious expressions to laughter, my goal is to create images that you will love to look at remember the memories with them.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR TO THE SESSION?
I say, wear what you are comfortable in! If you love to dress up in formal attire, or just a jeans & t-shirt family, wear that! Layers are great because we can put on or take off accordingly. Have a favorite sports team? Wear your T-Shirts, Jerseys, or anything else, its about the passion! For Families, I find it best to coordinate your clothing without matching each other exactly. Different textures, different colors and layers tend to photograph best!
WHAT SHOULD WE BRING TO OUR SESSION?
For families, bring anything your family loves. If a stuffed animal makes your child feel a little bit less shy, bring it along. My daughter has a stuffed “Doggie” and it has helped pull her out of her shell when she was younger. This phase will not last forever, so lets get some photos of your kids with them! If your Son is into lightsabers and swords, bring those too…I will join him! The more we can make the photos more personal to you and your family, the more they will mean to you! It’s not always about looking like the “Perfect Family”, its about looking like YOUR FAMILY!
WHAT IF MY KIDS DON'T LIKE GETTING PICTURES TAKEN?
I get it, most children don’t really enjoy having a camera in their face, but I will take my time to make sure they loosen up and find out what they like to talk about. Maybe it just takes a play fight with lightsabers to help them loosen up? I’ve also been known to bring snacks…just a warning.
